Raccoon Got His Head Stuck In A Drain, Freeing Him Was A Team Effort.

Their solution was to remove the grate.

They used crowbars, Jaws of Life and even a sledgehammer.

All the tools helped a little but they eventually got through with sheer force.

"Finally, it was just through sheer force we were able to push his head back the other way," John Greer from the Welland SPCA told InsideEdition.

After they successfully removed the raccoon from the grate, they took him to an animal hospital.

According to Greer, they were able to check if the raccoon had any major injuries (which it didn't).

The animal hospital eventually determined that the furry creature was fine.

After his hospital visit, the SPCA officials sent him on his way through a grassy field.

Raccoons often use sewer system tunnels as a way to travel.

However, it is unknown and unclear exactly how this raccoon got stuck in the grate's square hole.
